Menlo Electric South Africa is making waves as a new wholesale solar component distributor in the market. Having begun operations in January 2023, they are taking the market by storm and have already captured more than 10% of the market share. According to CSIR’s annual report, renewables excluding hydro made up only 7% of South Africa’s overall energy mix in 2022. The South African market currently has several favourite manufacturer brands. Solar component manufacturers tend to specialize in one of two main categories, panels, and inverters and batteries, and Menlo Electric’s portfolio covers both.
